Changelog
R3.6 · v3.6.0
- The home page now showcases the Energy view and local weather, and the calendar is described as Google or iCal.
- Delete my account & data. A new control in the ⋯ menu (and a public delete page) removes your Google sign-in session and synced shopping list from our servers and clears this app's on-device data in one step.
- Abandoned synced shopping lists now expire on their own, and a short safety note was added for controls that act on real locks, alarms and valves.
R3.5 · v3.5.0
- After you sign in with Google you now land back in the panel on the Calendar, instead of the home page.
R3.4 · v3.4.0
- Reliability: the session store that powers Google sign-in and live shopping-list sync now stays connected across updates.
R3.3 · v3.3.0
- Calendar, two ways. Connect Google, or paste any iCal link (iCloud, Outlook, Google) for a read-only calendar on the panel. Switch sources from the new 📅 Source picker.
R3.2 · v3.2.0
- The demo now uses a real two-floor home with device pins placed on an actual floor plan, so the Map shows what the panel really looks like.
R3.1 · v3.1.0
- Rooms toolbar tidied, and you can now tap the version number (in the ⋯ menu or the footer) to check for updates.
R3.0 · v3.0.0
- Security hardening (behind the scenes): stricter content-security rules, per-household list isolation, request rate limiting, and server-verified Pro.
R2.9 · v2.9.0
- Adaptive header and denser quick buttons; an on-image Load plan and floor-jump on the Map; and you can assign a map pin to a room.
R2.8 · v2.8.0
- A "Run it free" guide for standing up your own copy.
R2.7 · v2.7.0
- A how-to for getting a Home Assistant account, plus an FAQ.
R2.6 · v2.6.0
- °F / °C toggle for weather and temperatures.
R2.5 · v2.5.0
- Standalone ZIP weather tiles — current conditions and a short forecast by ZIP code, with no Home Assistant weather entity required.
R2.4 · v2.4.0
- Topbar restructure: the view tabs moved below the house name for a calmer header.
R2.3 · v2.3.0
- In the Overview board, the room sections are now called groups (“+ Group”, “Edit group”, “drag to reorder group”).
R2.2 · v2.2.0
- Fix: device tiles can now be dragged to reorder on touchscreens in edit mode (previously the drag was read as a scroll). Works in both Rooms and the Overview board.
R2.1 · v2.1.0
- Denser tiles. Tiles are more compact and fit more per row with less blank space, so you see more of your home at once and scroll less — across Rooms, Overview and Energy.
R2.0 · v2.0.0
- Family / simple mode. Make a clean, limited screen for a kid, guest or wall panel on any device: pick which rooms show (the rest hide), and — from the same place — hide tabs and set a controls PIN. Everything's still there in edit mode. Found in the ⋯ menu; it's per device.
R1.9 · v1.9.0
- Energy view. A new ⚡ Energy tab gathers your Home Assistant power, energy, battery and voltage sensors automatically and shows them grouped at a glance — no setup. (Hide it any time via Show / hide tabs.)
R1.8 · v1.8.0
- Weather tile. Add a weather tile for any Home Assistant
weather.* entity — it shows the condition and temperature at a glance, and tapping it opens current conditions plus a short forecast.
R1.7 · v1.7.0
- Show / hide tabs. Keep the screen clean — in the ⋯ menu, choose exactly which tabs appear (Overview, Rooms, Map, Shop, Calendar). Great for a wall panel or a kid's device that only needs one or two. The choice is per device.
R1.6 · v1.6.0
- The home page now showcases the Overview board and the quick-buttons & automations, with refreshed search keywords. No app changes.
R1.5 · v1.5.0
- New Overview board. A new 🧩 Overview view shows every room at once as section cards — your whole home on one screen, with the quick-action buttons across the top.
- Drag and drop. In edit mode, drag tiles to reorder them inside a room, and drag a room card by its grip (⠿) to rearrange the whole board. Your existing Rooms, Map, Shop and Calendar views are unchanged.
R1.4 · v1.4.0
- A warm welcome. The first time you open Ahl Control, a friendly full-screen screen explains what you're seeing and offers one tap to connect your Home Assistant — or to explore the demo first. It only appears once.
- It makes the one-minute, credentials-stay-on-your-device setup obvious from the start, then hands straight off to building your rooms automatically.
R1.3 · v1.3.0
- Clearer story. The home page, this guide, and search listings now describe how Ahl Control actually works today: bring your own Home Assistant, with your address and token kept on your device and never sent to our servers.
- New home-page feature card and a refreshed privacy panel; updated page description, keywords and preview text; sitemap now carries freshness dates. No app-behavior changes.
R1.2 · v1.2.0
- Bring your own Home Assistant. Connect your own HA right in the app (⋯ → Connect Home Assistant): enter your HTTPS address and a long-lived token, and the app talks to HA directly. The token is saved only in your browser and is never sent to our server — so one shared copy can serve many households, each with their own connection.
- Zero-config setup. Once connected, Ahl Control offers to build your rooms and tiles automatically from your Home Assistant areas — also available any time via ⋯ → Import rooms from Home Assistant.
- Clear guidance when a connection can't be reached (HTTPS and CORS), and a one-tap Disconnect that forgets the token on this device. Server-side-secret deployments keep working unchanged.
R1.1 · v1.1.0
- Automations beyond the calendar. Create automations that run a preset or a quick button from a device's state ("when the front door unlocks…") or a time of day ("at 10:00 PM…") — not just calendar events.
- Device-state and time automations run on the panel itself — no Google sign-in needed (only calendar automations do). Find them under ⚡ Automations; pick a trigger type, then what to run.
- Automations remain a Pro feature; in the demo everything previews.
R1.0 · v1.0.0
- Quick-action buttons above the map. Up to four one-tap buttons — give each a short name (e.g. "Night", "Away", "Movie") and it sets a whole set of devices at once: lights off, doors locked, alarm armed, sprinklers off — however you like.
- Configure in Edit mode: tap a button (or + Button) on the Map while editing to name it, pick an emoji, and choose each device's target state — or hit Capture current state to snapshot the house exactly as it is right now.
- The demo house ships with Night, Away and Movie so you can see it work immediately.
R0.9 · v0.9.0
- Live camera video. Tapping a camera tile now shows a real live stream (not just a refreshing snapshot). The video is proxied through the Worker so your Home Assistant token never reaches the browser, and the connection closes the moment you close the camera.
- Automatic fallback. If a camera can't stream, the feed quietly drops back to the auto-refreshing snapshot — so you always see something.
R0.8 · v0.8.0
- Home page, sharper: a new "How it compares" section and a "Buy once. Stays home." panel spell out the one-time, no-subscription, local-first model — the things that set Ahl Control apart from build-it-yourself cards and subscription dashboards.
- New learn page: an indexable ActionTiles alternative page for people moving off a dashboard that shut down (or tired of hand-building one), linked from the home page and listed in the sitemap.
- SEO: refreshed page description and keywords so the right searches find it.
R0.7 · v0.7.0
- Security devices: four new device types that work as tiles and map pins — a door/smart lock (lock/unlock), an alarm panel (arm home / away / night and disarm, with an optional code), and a water/irrigation valve (open / close sprinklers). Each is backed by its real Home Assistant domain.
- Camera tiles (Pro): a live snapshot from any Home Assistant camera, shown on the tile and as a map pin; tap for a larger feed that auto-refreshes. The camera image is proxied through the Worker so the HA token never reaches the browser.
- The demo house now includes an Entry & Outdoor room so you can try the camera, lock, alarm and sprinkler tiles before wiring Home Assistant.
R0.6 · v0.6.0
- New look & brand: a premium app icon and a wall-panel hero in the Blueprint & Ember palette.
- Three-part site: a public home page (what it is, features, Free vs Pro), the private app, and admin — the app now lives at
app.html.
- Name your house: set a household name (e.g. "The Flores Home") and the panel wears it in the top-left.
- Pro & free codes: multi-floor maps, calendar automations and the Google Tasks mirror are now Pro features. Generate redemption codes in Admin (they can be free) and redeem them in the ⋯ menu. In demo mode everything previews; gating applies once live.
R0.5 · v0.5.0
- Accessibility pass (WCAG AA): visible keyboard focus rings everywhere; tiles and map pins are now keyboard-operable (Tab + Enter/Space) with button roles and labels; all icon-only buttons have screen-reader labels; toast messages announce politely; the fan-spin and tap-bloom animations now honor "reduce motion."
- Offline & reconnect: a clear OFFLINE banner shows the last known state when the network drops; controls pause while offline and the panel resyncs with Home Assistant automatically when you're back.
- Housekeeping: dropped the unused theme-slider art from the offline cache.
R0.4 · v0.4.0
- New look — "Blueprint & Ember": a cool slate + blueprint-teal command-center skin with a warm ember glow that means "a room is on." New type (Space Grotesk / Inter / JetBrains Mono), chamfered tiles, a faint blueprint grid, and a floor plan that gently "breathes" where devices are live.
- View-only lock (guest & kids): set a PIN to put the panel in view-only mode — everyone sees status, but device control and editing stay locked until the PIN is entered.
- Night-glance screensaver: after a few idle minutes the wall panel dims to a calm clock, the next calendar event, and house status (devices on, doors open, HA live). Tap to wake. Toggle it in the ⋯ menu.
- Day / night / auto theme: the theme toggle now cycles dark → light → auto; auto follows the local clock so the panel isn't glaring at 2am.
- Tap feedback: toggling a device blooms a quick ember ripple. Admin stays plain and functional.
R0.3 · v0.3.0
- Unified devices: a device is now defined once (type + Home Assistant entity) and can appear as a room tile and a map pin. Edit it in one place (⋯ → Manage devices) and every placement updates. Tiles and pins gained “Save & place on map” / “Save & add to room”.
- Multi-floor maps: add, rename and delete floors; each floor has its own plan and pins, with a floor switcher.
- First-class list sync: a Sync on/off toggle and a true per-item merge (last-edit-wins with delete tombstones), so a phone and the wall panel editing at once no longer overwrite each other.
- Calendar automations: run a preset when a matching calendar event starts (optionally N minutes before). Plus add events to your Google Calendar from the Cal view.
- Google Tasks mirror: optional two-way sync of the shopping list with a Google Tasks list.
- Google sign-in now requests calendar (read/write) and tasks scopes — sign out and back in once to grant them.
R0.2 · v0.2.0
- Google sign-in (OAuth) — powers the Calendar view and gives a real identity; dormant until configured.
- New Calendar view: Today / Upcoming from Google Calendar, with sample events until signed in.
- Shopping list: Amazon convenience link per item and a "Find on Amazon" when adding a device; new Dany's picks share that emits a public, affiliate-tagged list (in-panel links stay untagged).
- Health endpoint now reports Google + KV status; sessions stored in KV.
R0.1 · v0.1.0
- First release — installable PWA on Cloudflare Workers.
- Rooms view: per-room device tiles, inline light dimmers, thermostat control, whole-house & per-room presets.
- Map view: load a floor plan and place draggable device pins with live status (light glow, garage open/closed, fan spin, sensor readouts).
- Shop view: local-first shopping list by category, with cross-device sync scaffolding (Cloudflare KV) and phone-share to Keep/Tasks.
- Home Assistant adapter in the Worker (token kept server-side); seeded demo house so everything works before HA is wired.
- Dark/light themes, drag-to-arrange edit mode, custom room & tile images, JSON backup/restore.
