Effective November 3, 2026 · Ahlchemy Author Company
These Terms are a binding agreement between you and Ahlchemy Author Company ("we," "us"), State of Missouri, USA, governing your use of the Ahl Control app and website (the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.
Ahl Control is a dashboard you point at your own Home Assistant installation. It is local-first: your Home Assistant address and token stay on your device and the app talks to your Home Assistant directly. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting for Home Assistant / Nabu Casa, Google, Amazon, Apple, Microsoft, Samsung SmartThings, or any device maker. Those are their owners' marks, used only to describe compatibility. You are responsible for your own Home Assistant, your network, your devices, and your accounts.
Don't use the Service to break the law, infringe others' rights, interfere with or overload the Service or its APIs, probe or bypass security, or access another household's data. You're responsible for everything done through your deployment and your connected accounts.
Your configuration — rooms, tiles, pins, presets, house name, images, and your shopping list — is yours. You grant us only the limited license needed to host and sync it to provide the Service (for example, syncing your list across your devices). We claim no ownership of it and, as stated in the Privacy Policy, never use it to train AI.
Ahl Control's shopping list may add Amazon links. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. Outbound links to third parties are provided for convenience and are not an endorsement; those sites have their own terms and privacy practices.
Features you enable rely on third parties — Home Assistant, Google (calendar/tasks), Stripe (payments), and public weather services — each governed by its own terms. We're not responsible for those services' availability, accuracy, or acts.
Some jurisdictions don't allow certain exclusions, so parts of §9–§10 may not apply to you; nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
You'll defend and indemnify us against claims arising from your use of the Service, your deployment, your connected devices and accounts, or your breach of these Terms, except to the extent caused by us.
If you obtained Ahl Control through the Apple App Store, Google Play, or Microsoft Store (each an "App Provider"): these Terms are between you and us, not the App Provider, and the App Provider is not responsible for the Service or its support. You must comply with the App Provider's usage rules. The App Providers and their subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you. On Apple devices, where required, purchases inside a native app are made through Apple's in-app purchase; web purchases use Stripe.
You will comply with U.S. export and sanctions laws. The Service uses only standard, publicly available encryption (mass-market, EAR ECCN 5D992.c). You represent you are not located in, and will not use the Service in, an embargoed country, and are not on a U.S. government denied-party or SDN list.
We don't currently send marketing emails, push notifications, or texts. Any future notifications will be opt-in and are not guaranteed to be delivered; transactional emails, if any, will identify us and include a physical Missouri mailing address, and you'll be able to opt out of non-essential messages.
You can delete your data yourself at any time — in the app (⋯ menu → 🗑️ Delete my account & data) or at ahlcontrol.com/delete-account — as described in the Privacy Policy.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Missouri, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Before filing anything, email admin@ahlchemy.org and give us 30 days to resolve it informally. If we can't, any dispute will be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association, seated in Webster County, Missouri (or conducted virtually for claims under $10,000). You and we waive any right to a jury trial and to participate in a class or representative action. Either party may still bring an individual claim in small-claims court. If this arbitration provision is found unenforceable, disputes will be heard in the state or federal courts of Webster County, Missouri.
If any provision is unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between us about the Service. We may update these Terms; material changes will be posted here with a new effective date, and continued use means you accept them.
